Occasionally trees will naturally shed small dead twigs and branches which is normally nothing to be concerned about.
However large quantities of deadwood in the tree can become hazardous either by being shed or blown out in strong winds.
Each tree will be inspection before works commences, a tree may not need all deadwood removed as it can be beneficial to species of insects and birds.
Large dead wood should be removed when a tree is overhanging targets such as roads, Public footpaths, buildings etc.
When deadwood removal is carried out the tree surgeons will inspect the crown for other potential hazards, they may also remove diseased , damaged, dying and crossing branches most of which are potential hazards if left in the crown.
When our tree surgeons carry out deadwood removal they will generally remove or stabilize large dead wood and also remove smaller dead wood down to approx 40mm. Deadwood removal can be carried out at any time of year and will not effect the health of the tree in any way.
Deadwood removal will also approved the look of a tree especially some of the softwoods ie Cedars, Pines etc.
Our tree surgeons will generally climb when removing deadwood from trees as in most situations not all areas of the crown can be accessed with a MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform).
