Our teams of professional tree surgeons in Norfolk have had a very busy week this week, we have been trying to get any work to conifers completed before the birds start nesting.

One of the nicer jobs this week was to carry out some reduction and sectional felling work on this row of Beech trees, the trees were originally planted as a hedge but the hedge was left to grow resulting in lots of poorly formed trees.

The job was to reduce some of the larger ones and selectively sectional fell some of the smaller trees again all of which had structural weakness or have been suppressed by the larger trees.

The trees also needed crown lifting to give more ground clearance and selective limb reduction, reducing branches to give a 2m clearance form the fabrications of buildings.

The team arrived on site around 8.30am and started by setting up the site using hazard tape and tree cutting hazard signs, once these were in place they carried out the site specific risk assessment which everyone has to sign before any work commences.
